Choosing the Right Plywood for Your Home: MR vs BWP Grade Explained

Choosing the Right Plywood for Your Home: MR vs BWP Grade Explained

16 May 2026  ·  Royal Glass House

Walk into any plywood showroom in Siliguri and you will hear two terms repeated — MR and BWP Grade.

MR Grade Plywood

MR plywood is bonded using urea-formaldehyde resin and is designed to handle indoor humidity. Perfect for wardrobes, beds, study tables.

BWP Grade Plywood

BWP is bonded with phenol-formaldehyde resin and can survive direct contact with boiling water. Use it for kitchen cabinetry, bathroom vanities, outdoor furniture.

Quick Rule

  • Wardrobe? MR is enough.
  • Kitchen base? Always BWP.
  • Bathroom vanity? BWP, no compromise.
